All the speaking to the audience as if they are children, the misleading headlines leading to articles of little substance, and the false outrage that seem endemic to mainstream reporting have left me easily shocked to see normal honest reporting and real outrage. This video report from Iraq served to remind me that there is more than one caliber of journalist. Lara Logan is a credit to her profession:
Update: Sadly, Lara Logan was later brutally assaulted by a crowd in Egypt. It’s a reminder of what risks a journalist of her caliber endures in order to shine light into parts of the world that would otherwise be glossed over by reporters who rarely leave their desk and who try to stir up controversy or say what they’re told to say. She’s an inspiration and an American hero.
